20 years ago yesterday, Netscape Navigator was officially released.
The first of the modern commercial web browsers, it was instrumental in bringing the World Wide Web to the masses.
It's launch and success was also the driving force behind Microsoft creating Internet Explorer, but we won't hold that against them.
If it wasn't for Netscape Navigator, we might not be building websites today.
So a big thank you to Marc Andressen and Jim Clark and a happy birthday to Netscape Navigator 1.
