Reports have indicated that the new Google Penguin algorithm will be rolled out within the next two months, with a strong likelihood that it will be released ahead of the new year.
It is highly likely that this release will be versioned as real time, which we speculated in our previous blog on Google Penguin Updates 2015, issued in December last year. This will result in links being reviewed by Google on an ongoing "real time" basis, in other words, Google will detect "unnatural" links in real time with the ability to penalise websites faster. It does also mean that you will have the opportunity to remove a penalty much faster once this update has been implemented.
Check out our blog on Google Penguin Updates 2015 for further details on the new "real time" version of the Google Penguin algorithm.
If you haven't already, we would advise that backlink profiles are reviewed over the next few weeks to ensure that they contain highly relevant, quality links, and that any unnatural or "spammy" links are removed. This will ensure that you get off on the right foot ahead of the release of Google Penguin 4.0.
Backlink profiles should be reviewed regularly, ideally on a quarterly basis, as backlink profiles are ever changing. The new real time version of Google Penguin (4.0) will be an ongoing reminder to do this, as websites will be reviewed on a continual basis upon it's release.
