Some good news for all keyword research fans! Bing has launched its own keyword research tool. Having been a long time user of Google's Keyword Research Tool, to have an equivalent from Bing is good news indeed. The new tool, which is part of Bing's Webmaster Tools offering was announced at SMX West on Tuesday by Duane Forrester.
Forrester said of the tool: "Query data shown in the results within this tool are based on organic query data from Bing and is raw data, not rounded in any way."
The tool is found when you login to Bing Webmaster Tools and navigate to the 'Keywords' tab. In the Keyword Research Tool you have the ability to select your region, language and specify whether the data should be 'strict' (ie. exact match) or not. The data is then returned in a long list with search query data.
All data can then be exported into a CSV file for analysing in Excel. Bing have said that they will be keeping 6 months worth of data on all keywords at a time and the user can select any date range within the last 6 months to view data.
Having another search engine source for keyword data is great news for SEOs and this should provide a nice refuge for times when Google's Keyword Tool becomes a little frustrating. The more keyword data the better!
