Our Code Club classes have been running at Amherst School for a couple of months now and the second half of the school term’s classes started yesterday.
We are fully committed to volunteering and running the Code Club scheme because we believe that by generating interest in the possibilities of computer sciences from an early age, we can inspire the next generation to take an active role in innovation and creating technology instead of simply teaching them how to use it.
Luke and Jon have been taking it in turns to teach the Code Club lesson plans to twelve children aged between nine and eleven, here are a few photos from yesterday’s class.
Our long term ambition is to roll the Code Club scheme out to other schools and we would encourage other agencies, who might be able to deliver the opportunity to other schools across the island to get involved.
