Just a week or so ago the team arrived back from their annual trip to Lihou Island. Having been blessed with some absolutely beautiful weather, we all packed our bags for a night, hiked across the causeway and set up camp in the old house on Lihou for an evening of playing games, swimming, eating & drinking! I have put together a brief montage of some of the footage that I took on the trip. All of this was taken on my phone, so apologies for the poor quality.
Arriving at around 5PM, the first thing we did was stroll down to the Venus pool for a quick swim. Following on from that there were beers and some serious barbecue action. Hanging out on the terrace in the evening sun was just blissful.
After dinner it was back down to the Venus pool to watch the sunset. Along the way we managed to snap some great shots of the best looking couples in the group.
And of course, let us not forget the stunning sunset:
Upon our return to the house, the drinking began. Many, many things happened during the course of the evening. We played beer pong, we danced and laughed, we moonwalked. If you're lucky I might post a video at some point!
Unfortunately Roxanne then proceeded to fall down some steps and break her ankle. That should have put a downer on the night, but she put on a brave face and partied on anyway. The morning after however the ankle was swollen and looked very painful, we all felt for her. On the up side however she got to sunbathe all day whilst we cleaned the house from top to bottom!
Much of the day was spent on the beach, swimming, playing frisbee and skimming stones. There were plans to do some archery and some abseiling but unfortunately the warden had a previous engagement. That said though, a day on the beach in Lihou with the sun beating down was not too shabby at all.
Finally, it was back to the house for the big clean up. Once we had blitzed the place it was into the living room to escape the heat and to have a laugh at some of last night's footage.
Jon was feeling a little worse for wear.
Finally, after 24 hours in the wonderful oasis of life that is Lihou, the warden turned up in his tractor. We transferred our wounded into the trailer, then everyone else decided to jump in too for the ride home. What a night that was! We'll be back next year :)
