This Wednesday BDO, C5 Alliance and TEKEX are putting on an event for all of the newly elected deputies in the island, with the goal of briefing them on some of the challenges and opportunities that AI will present to the island over the next few years.
One of our directors, Patrick Cunningham has been asked to talk at the event - he'll be summarising where the technology is right now and what it is capable of, and talking about what the short and medium term future could hold.
Overall the message he will be looking to convey is that AI technology is going to drive some significant, potentially unpredictable change over the next few years.
The decision makers within government need to understand what the technology is good at and what it isn’t good at. They need to understand the mechanisms by which it will disrupt industry, and the mechanisms by which it will transform industry for the better. This way they will be better equipped to handle the change that is coming.
John Gamble will also be talking through some practical examples to bring the technology to life, and Marc Winn will be talking about how Guernsey can adapt its culture to take advantage of the massive change that is on the horizon.
If you are a newly elected deputy and you haven't accepted the invite then do come along, this tech has potential for a lot of disruption both positive and negative, so it's important you get on board with it.
The event is taking place @ C5 Space, Admiral Park, from 6-8pm.
