Over the 3 and a bit years that Indulge have been in existence, we have had a few websites.
The first was a 100% Flash based monolith, which fitted entirely fitted within a circle no more than 500 pixels in diameter. It looked amazing and even had a virtual fish, though to be honest it was wasn't great to use and was a real pain to update. Not to mention it put us into search exile.
The second was better; a Drupal 6 based site with a decent blog and well structured portfolio. This site helped our search ranking no end.
The third and current iteration was better yet, with a fully integrated Twitter feed on the home page and a much slicker, snappier design across the board.
This constant upgrading of our site really reflects the phenominal rate at which web technology progresses, and as a digital agency it is absolutely vital that our website stays at the cutting edge.
Which brings us neatly onto the fourth! Even since our last website went live in February 2011, a lot of stuff has happened. HTML5 has really come of age, mobile Internet usage has doubled and (thank God) IE6 looks to finally be paling into insignificance.
Our new website doesn't exist yet, apart from in the form of a sitemap, a technical spec and some initial home page design concepts, however it is going to be super cool. In fact we're so excited about it that were going to publicise the build of the site at every stage, put in place a public beta and encourage users to give their feedback on its progress. All I can say at the moment is that it's going to be a snappy, responsive, animated (but only where necessary), a joy to use and a feast to the eye.
