2019 is going to be a big year for Indulge, as we celebrate 10 years of business! We've been holding our cards close to our chest but now we're just too excited, so we're spilling the beans!
As part of our 10 year anniversary, we've been working closely with the local MS Society in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, transforming their online presence with a brand new website. The MS Society has been a charity close to our hearts for many years, which is why we feel that our 10 year anniversary is the perfect time to show our support and help the local community.
Founded in 1976, the Bailiwick branch (known as Guernsey MS Society) covers the Bailiwick of Guernsey, which includes the islands of Alderney, Sark, and Herm. The society relies on its dedicated committee and tremendous support from the community.
Guernsey has a very high number of cases of Multiple Sclerosis. It is believed, that there are around 150 people in the Bailiwick of Guernsey with MS.
MS tends to hit individuals at a peak or critical part of people’s lives. Symptoms may appear during one's 20's, 30's or 40's, but a diagnosis is often delayed as symptoms are non-specific. MS has a tendency to affect a higher ratio of women to men, with at least two to three times more women being diagnosed with the condition.
The challenge that the MS Society currently faces is that only about 20% of those that have been diagnosed locally have signed up as members of the MS Society, and due to confidentiality, it is not possible for the society to reach out directly to recently diagnosed individuals through medical practices.
There is a need to open up to a younger age group, with diagnosis now happening much earlier, but it’s important to avoid alienating the older demographic.
Our aim is to design and build a functional website that can assist in raising awareness, educating users and providing support for people living with MS and their relatives in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
Follow the MS Society on their digital journey with Indulge. We'll be posting regular updates and sneak peeks of the brand new website on our Facebook and Twitter page.
Website launch due May 2019!
