So, Indulge decided to abandon the annual tradition of going to Lihou this year and instead decided to venture east to another of Guernsey's neighbouring islands, Sark.
The troop gathered on Saturday morning bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to set sail on the boat to Sark. Blessed with some fantastic weather, the team were lucky enough to miss the forecasted torrential rain and gale force winds. After a quick photo the team jumped aboard the Sark boat, but unfortunately, there was a slight delay with departure as someone managed to lose their ticket! No names... Russell! So we all decided to set sail without him... only joking!
Once we landed in Sark, everyone jumped off and hopped on to another boat with Captain George who gave a complete tour around Sark and Brecqhou. Within 2 1/2 hours we saw every inch of the islands and caves. Pat managed to take some super photographs of the caves and wildlife along the way, check out Flickr for more photo's from our trip to Sark.
By the time we finished the boat trip, stomachs were rubbling and the toast rack was no longer running, so after a little hike uphill we finally arrived at what would become our final destination in Sark, The Bel Air! BBQ, Beers, a short skim through the Sark Newsletter and a couple of games of killer later, it was time to depart this beautiful and tranquil little island and return to Guernsey.
With tickets in hand (including Russell!) we jumped aboard the Sark boat and after a quick cat nap we arrived back in our home island, just in time for the sun burn to kick in. Poor Jon, his first time to Sark and he ends up returning with some rather dashing tan marks and radiating sun burn!
Once moored in St Peter Port harbour, we ventured on to Red Grill House for a slap up meal with a challenging amount of steak, a few bottles of plonk and a couple of cheeky cocktails. What a fantastic way to end the day, and if it's any consolation the headache the next day definitely reinforced how good the annual outing was! Fortunately there are no pictures!
