Creating a User Research Panel for the Finance Sector
Indulge is building a research participant panel for the finance sector, providing a ready pool of users who can give unbiased, actionable feedback to improve digital experiences.
Our goal is to accelerate UX research for clients and empower participants to shape the digital financial landscape in the Channel Islands and the UK.
Why Build a Panel?
Recruiting participants is often the biggest barrier to UX research. Existing panels rarely have enough users in the Channel Islands, and specialist recruitment firms are costly. By creating our own panel, we ensure consistent access to participants who reflect target audiences while giving the public a real chance to influence digital services.
How We Recruit, Screen & Store Participants
We gather participant information via Jotform and store details in ClickUp. This forms the database behind the panel, while the panel itself is a pool of users ready to be invited to studies. Participants provide consent for their data to be stored and used for research in compliance with GDPR.
Participants are grouped by finance sub-verticals—Banking & Payments, Mortgages, Private Wealth, Pensions, Insurance, Investment & Funds—to ensure relevant, representative feedback. Key data collected includes:
Demographics: Location, age range, gender, languages spoken and employment.
Digital experience: Areas of financial services used or experienced and technical proficiency.
Accessibility needs: Assistive technology requirements.
Before each study, a project-specific screener ensures participants are suitable and their usage habits remain consistent.
Incentives & Using the Panel
Participants may receive small tokens of appreciation, such as vouchers or client-related discounts. The panel can be leveraged for:
Remote or in person user testing or interviews
A/B testing of high impact funnels
Surveys and early feedback on designs or live features
By joining, you’ll have the chance to directly influence the design of digital solutions in the finance sector, helping to make online banking, mortgage applications, pensions, and other services simpler, more intuitive, and more accessible for everyone.
